Head's Blog 15th April 2016

The new Term started off really well as we came back to the news that the Year 11 football team had won the Plymouth Cup on the last day of the previous term. The boys were playing Eggbuckland and in very poor conditions had gone 2 - 0 down in the first 15 minutes. They fought back hard and played very well but it did take them almost the whole game to get back level. In the dying minutes the winning goal was scored giving our boys a 3-2 victory. It was a pleasure to congratulate the boys with in front of the whole Staff Briefing on Monday.

The whole of Year 11 need to show the same determination when it comes to revision for their GCSEs.

Mr Fenwick reports that the Year 7 football team are also doing well. On Tuesday night they were also competing in the Plymouth finals. After triumphing in the group stages the boys ended up drawing two of our games as well as losing out to the eventual winners (Plymstock) 2-1 in our other fixture. This left us finishing third in the competition overall. For the boys first season together they have done exceptionally well and should be very proud of their efforts and achievements.

Another great pleasure for me this week was to present the Head Boy and Deputy Head Boys with their badges. The full Sixth Form Leadership team is as follows:

Year 7 News
Welcome back after what I hope was a fantastic Easter break for all. I still can’t quite believe that the Year 7’s are already in their 5th term at St Boniface’s …the time has flown by!

Well to the Year 7 Football Team, you have worked incredibly well as a team and are a huge asset to the College.

Mrs Davey took a group of students to a Sports Festival at Marjons on the 22nd March, just before the Easter break, and the event was enjoyed by all.  The students involved were;

 Rhys Edwards

 Aaron Drake-Worth

 Thomas Warmington

 Ty Mitchell

Mrs Swann

The prayer theme for next week is COMMUNITY and boys will be using St Boniface's prayer:

Eternal God, the refuge and help of all your children,
We praise you for all you have given us,
For all you have done for us,
For all that you are to us.

In our weakness, you are strength;
In our darkness you are light;
In our sorrow, you are comfort and peace.
We cannot number your blessings;
We cannot declare your love:

For all your blessings we praise you.

May we live in your presence,
and love the things that you love,
and serve you in our daily lives;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
